Non-clinical career transition for PTs, OTs, & SLPs

Scrubs to Slack: Ask Me Anything

If you’ve ever googled “non-clinical" jobs for speech therapists” or “how to use my occupational therapy degree without seeing patients” or even “why do I hate working in healthcare?” after a really rough day, you’re in the right place.

Scrubs to slack is my way of helping clinicians who are curious about, considering, or already in the middle of a move into non-clinical work. I made this transition myself, and I want to share the parts that not enough people talk about.

When I was going through the transition myself, I found a few website that were helpful for figuring out how to translate my resume and where to find jobs, but I couldn’t really find enough information about the real stuff. Not the “here’s a list of non-clinical jobs” information, but the actual questions like “What do you say in an actual interview when you’ve only ever worked in a clinic?”

I’m hosting a free three part AMA where I share the deets so that I can provide the support I didn’t have.

After 5 years of working in non-clincial roles, interviewing and receiving offers or final rounds for several non-clinical positions and learning how to make it in my new roles, I’m sharing all that I know.
